Merry Christmas!

Christmas is almost here and I can hardly wait. It's Christmas Eve Eve! We are so close. I have so many Christmas movies to watch and so little time. The funny thing is, most of the movies are VHS. HA HA!
P.S. just thought I would tell you about a little winter friend of mine. Burt's Bees! Their products may be a little expensive but when it is on sale, it's a DEAL! My personal favorite is the Lip Balm.

Lock and Key

"...I always tried to imagine what it would be like to open your door to find something you had given up on. Maybe it had seen places you never had, been rerouted and passed through so many strange hands, but still somehow found its way back to you..." -Ruby from "Lock and Key" by Sarah Dessen

Scapino

I tried out for the play at school and I got a (small) part. I really didn't care what part I got, I just really wanted to be in this play. The play is"Scapino" and it is my first play ever to perform in. I was a waitress in a dinner theatre, but I knew I could do better than that. I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!!! I will have to tell you guys how everything turns out.

My Turtles

I love all of my turtle very much! I have had them for 5 years and they are suppose to live for decades, so they aren't going any where any time soon. I have four of them and they each have their own personalities. When I first got them, they each were the size of a quarter. Now Samantha is bigger than your hand, and the others are catching up.

This is Ben. Such a good boy, looking at the camera. He is a yellow belly turtle.

This is Samantha. She is humongo!! Samantha is a red eared turtle. OH MY GOODNESS she really is HUGE!!!

Dicken here is the sweetest. I LOVE him. When I first got him he was Noname because I did not know what to name him. Then I read the Secret Garden which has a character named Dicken. So, there you go. He is the smallest and a yellow belly.

These last two pictures are of Scraper. He was really afraid of the camera. I don't know why. He is weird. I named him Scraper because I brought him home in a brown bag and he scraped a hole in it. HAHAHAHA! He is also the reason why I have Ben and Samantha. Scraper escaped and was gone for eight days. If an aqua turtle if out of the water for more than 3-5 days, well you know.I got the yellow bellies so Samantha wouldn't be lonely, then I found Scraper. That is why I have four turtles. Scraper is a red eared turtle.

"Yep. I'm Good."

Lately, I have been trying to live the theory that it is easier to laugh than to cry. Then someone told me that sometimes you have to cry. I agreed with her. But, when it comes to little things, it is easier to laugh than to cry. Let me give you an example....... (This is for you, Melissa)

Once upon a time I was in geometry class. It was almost time to leave when the the people at my table ask me to give our homework to the teacher. So, being the oh so kind person I am, I grabbed the papers and started toward the teacher. Next thing I know I was on the ground. BWHAAAAAAA!!! I was laughing and the entire class was laughing(I even think my teacher was laughing). After laying there for a sec to take it all in and with hair all in my face, I got up and handed the homework papers to the teacher. He asked me if I was O.K., "Yep. I'm good." As I was still laughing and the rest of the class was laughing hysterically, I slowly and carefully made my way back to my seat. I sat down and realized that the three people at my table were laughing so hard that their faces were red. One girl kept telling me she was so sorry that she was laughing. I told her that it was fine because I was laughing just as hard as she was. And I live happily ever after with a bruised shin and a carpet burn.

After class, people were telling me that I had made there day. That made me feel really good. One girl told me that first I was vertical, then horizontal in the air, then lying on the ground. I thought that was funny. You see, my point is that, in this case, it was easy to laugh then to cry. Plus, I have a really good story to tell now!

P.S. I later found out that my foot got caught in these computer cords. That's how I fell. I hope I didn't mess up the computer! :D

A VERY BIG Birthday Surprise!

Today is my youth pastor's birthday!! My friend and I are going to give him a pretty big surprise. Between big church and youth we are going to go to his house and put a big happy birthday sing on the garage door. We'll find some time to have people sign it. Then, in his house, we are going to blow up some balloons and cover his chair that he always sits in with them. We even made a Certificate of Old Age for him. It's really cool looking. We will sign that then frame it and put it on the kitchen table. My friend and I got ribbon and rapping paper and we are going to rap his bedroom door and the bathroom door if we have time to. Once we are done inside we will go outside and decorate the driveway and sidewalk with chalk. Today will be a very interesting day, so wish us luck!!

All You Need Is A Bat And A Few Soda Cans (who needs a ball?)

Last night my youth group did something I never thought I would ever do. We got ten billion(mabe not that many) soda cans and we took turns hitting them with bats. This one guy shook up the cans then tossed them up. All you could do was wish that you hit it and wish that you didn't get sprayed. I got lucky and both of those wishes came true for me. We each got to hit three cans. The first one I hit didn't even pop, it just flew. The second one I hit pop alittle bit, but nothing sprayed on me. It sprayed all over the guy who was tossing the cans. I started laughing(don't worry, I was laughing with him). The third one I hit went really far, but nothing else happend. Some people took a few tries before they hit the cans and others hit the cans the first time. Some cans looked like they had exploded. The field we were in is probably covered in ants by now. The grass was really sticky and it smelt like grapes.
Over all I had a lot of fun!! I wish I will do it again sometime.

Prayer

"It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening." -Psalms 92:1, 2

"The intense prayer of the righteous is very powerful" -James 5:16

"Don't fret or worry, Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." -Philippians 4:6

I love knowing that whenever I get scared or I'm worried, I can turn to God and He will always be there. I don't pray as much as I would like, which is why I am posting this. Someone once told me that it doesn't matter where are when you pray. You don't have to schedule time with God. He is always there, ready to listen. Nowadays, our lives are so busy, so maybe you do have to plan a time during your day for Him. Always remember that He is worthy of our time. I hope that this encourages me and you to put more time aside for God.

"Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
-Mark 11:24

Quotes For Today

I am going to make this post simple and sweet.( Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.)

"For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as to divide soul, spirit, joints, and marrow: it is a judge of the ideas and thoughts of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

Do you always live by God's Word?

"Either God's Word keeps you from sin, or sin keeps you from God's Word."
-Corrie ten Boom

"God can see clearly no matter how dark or foggy the night is. Trust His Word to guide you safely home."
-Lisa Whelchel

"God's Word is a light not only to our path but also to our thinking. Place it in your heart today, and you will never walk in darkness."
-Joni Eareckson Tada

Peace, Love and Happiness

I drew this with oil pastels. It was supposed to be PEACE, LOVE, and HAPPINESS but when I put them together, they got mixed up. That's o.k. I still liked how they turned out! Hope you do too!

Hot Dogs: Hall of Fame!

This is poster I made with hot dogs I cut out of a magazine. It was for speech. I tried to name each hot dog, but could not quite figure out what to name the bottom one. We were performing T.V. shows and there were interviews. My name was LaBeef LaWeeta. I was a famous hot dog eater. Pretty random...I know. That's why I made a Hot Dogs: Hall of Fame!!

The Book Thief.

This is one of the best books I have ever read!!! That is enough said. You should check it out.
WARNING: This book takes place during the Holocaust and if that is a sensitive subject for you I would not advise you to read this book. I did cry allot while reading this book. Let's just say that those were not happy tears.
But happy tears or sad tears, any book that can make you cry is a really good book. I love this book. I would read it again and again, again, again, and again........
Oh, it is narrated by death.

I Challenge you!

Think about this:
Have you ever tried to leave the house to go somewhere, but you can't because you have misplaced your cell phone and you can not live without it?
Dinner is ready. Time to sit down with the family, but your eyes are glued to the T.V.?
Are you ready to go to church? No, because you can not let go of the remote to the Xbox.
Technology has become a big part of your life whether you realize it or not. Sometimes, it may even end up controlling your life.
Now think about this: What if people were that concerned about other things, more important things. Like spending time with family, cleaning your room, doing homework, or even reading the bible and talking with God.
Because we are humans, we will have problems. But, sometimes, instead of turning to God for help, we play video games, search the Internet, text our friends. Then our problems get buried and may even become worse. Don't get me wrong. Technology is great! But if it runs your life and that is your life, take a minute and pick up a bible.

Now this is your challenge:
God deserves more attention than your cell phone. Find time during the week and turn all your electronics OFF. Talk to God. I promise you He does not mind and He will listen to you.
(P.S. Use you head. Don't turn anything off that might aggravate the parents!!)

Let me know how it woks out! =D

Learn to LAUGH!!!!

WOW!!! I can not believe that the school year is almost over. This year has gone by real fast. I have learned over the years(that makes me sound old, which I am not( no offense to anybody)) that the older you do get, the faster time flies. Ha HA! Like time really flies. I meant, the faster time goes by.
Well, I am not going to stress myself out over the future. Let's concern ourselves with the present. In school I am in a speech class( which is basically a theatre class). The past two or three weeks we have been working on Duets. Oooooh Duets. Everyone in the class got a partner. I got a good partner, but you could say that she didn't receive the same. I tend to play more than work sometimes and I think I got on her nerves allot. She is just too nice and decided she would put up with me.
There were about 17 groups in my class. Each group received a different script. My partner and I got a boring one. It was called "He's Mine". Girl thinks boy is cute. Boy meets girl. Girl decides she does not like the boy. Friend of girl says they should hang out anyway. Girl suffers and friend is entertained. How typical.
We practiced and practiced. These duets are about 10 min. long, so it was a little of a struggle. My lines basically repeated themselves all of the time. Because of that, there were a few lines that I got mixed up all of the time. Then ( thanks to all of that practice) i finally remembered the lines. Now all I had to do was perform it in front of the class.......for a grade. I was determined to not forget any lines and do great.
Our teacher films the duets so we can watch them ourselves later. The day came to perform and we were ready. The camera was recording and we were performing. Everything was going great. Then I forget my lines.......
Let's skip ahead for a moment. My partner and I got a 100 on this performance. Now you ask, "How? You forgot your lines and it is 2 points taken off each time you forget them." Then I say," Yes it is true and I forgot my lines a total 3 times. I used the art of add libbing(I do not know how to spell that)."
Now back to the performance. Then........ I forgot my lines! I had already come up with some back up lines in case something like this was to occur. So, to the audience I said," That boy is so cute, he has took the words right out of me." The class starts to laugh knowing that those words were not the ones i was planning to come out of my mouth. This gives me a moment to make up something.
As you can tell from the grade, I did not give up and I did move the performance along. I remembered the rest of my lines and ended with the whole class laughing. The camera did not stop filming once. I pursued what I had planned to do. I even turned a boring script into an exciting one.
I soon learned that other speech classes got to watch my hysterical performance. People were walking up to me telling that they saw it and what their favorite part was. We would start to laugh at the funny memory.
I am going to hold on to this memory forever. Why? you ask. Because it taught me to laugh at myself. That I can't be perfect and that (like every other human being) I will make mistakes. I took that mistake and made it a funny. Not to mention that I had so much fun doing it!
